Duluth’s historic railroad offers narrated train rides through downtown Duluth and up the North Shore, as well as special excursions throughout the year. Trips depart from the Duluth Union Depot.
Located in West Duluth’s Fairmont Park, the zoo is home to hundreds of native and exotic animals, including lions, wolves, leopards, cougars and grizzly bears, as well as a kid-friendly barnyard. Daily events include animal feedings, trainings and enrichment activities.
This hands-on discovery center showcases 205 species of fish, birds, reptiles, amphibians and mammals – 900 animals in all. Perfect for families, the aquarium offers daily programs that explore animals and habitats from the Great Lakes Basin and other waters of the world.
The nation’s fifth-oldest children’s museum, this attraction offers daily programs, as well as kid-focused exhibits and collections. Programs are designed to bring out the energy and potential in all children by sparking curiosity and learning.
Located just beyond Spirit Mountain’s main chalet, Spirit Mountain Adventure Park offers a variety of family-friendly adventure activities, including year-round rides on the alpine coaster and zip line, as well as seasonal mountain biking, mini golf and snow tubing.
The S.S. William A. Irvin tour is open daily for tours from May through September. Haunted ship tours begin in early October.
